About

Psychologist, writer, researcher and teacher.

I have spent more than three decades studying how people change and what makes change difficult, particularly in relation to eating, obesity, health, self-regulation and the relationship between mind and body.

The questions behind the work

Why do people continue patterns they understand are hurting them?

What makes meaningful change possible?

How do people become more coherent, flexible and fully themselves?

Professional arc

Several ways of studying the same human questions.

My clinical psychology training, research, university teaching and clinical work have given me different ways to approach change. I have focused especially on obesity, eating behaviour, self-regulation and the relationship between mind and body.

Writing and public education allow me to extend those questions beyond the consulting room. Through Montreal Comprehensive, I bring them into a more structured pathway for weight-management assessment, focused programs and ongoing support.

Approach

Knowledge matters when it can be used in life.

My approach integrates psychological science, clinical experience, behaviour change, self-regulation and a mind-body understanding of human life.

It also makes room for meaning and identity: the ways people understand themselves, the direction they want their lives to take, and the conditions that help change become sustainable.
